Not sure if this is the right place for this so sorry in advance if it is not.
Well what a battle that was.
I just changed the batteries on my speedlight remote and I thought I better give it a quick test. So mounted the remote hot shoe to my EM1, put the receiver on the base of the speedlight and, nothing. So much for a quick test lol, try 30 minutes later and still could not get it to work off camera. The flash worked fine if I pushed the test button on it, but everytime I tried remotely nothing.
I tried everything I could thing of, electronic shutter, mechanical shutter, turning things on and off in the menus but nothing worked. I was just about to throw the thing out of the window, as I know it works, I have used it before.
So to cut a long story short, I looked at the instruction booklet for the flash remote and sod me, on the part that attaches to the flash, there is a bleeding on/off switch lol. So turned it on and wow it works perfectly now.
I hate technical things lol. Lesson learned check things are turned on next time.
What a muppet.
Cheers Andy
