Hi all, hope your all well.

I have recently ordered a yongnuo 565ex ttl flash, actually i ordered 2 by mistake but a back up is always good, and a customer at work gave me some soft boxes, shoot through umbrellas and a few other bits like stands ect.

ok,s so they are TTL flash units and i have a Nikon D5200, can i set 2 of these up and use TTL, i realise i would need a TTL trigger and not just the dumb triggers, but before spending money on them i thought i would check here first.

If they are suitable for TTL on the D5200 then would the

oh and one more question

is it at all possible to fire at higher than the 1/180 when using flash on the D5200

The flash i have does say HSS but im not sure if or how it works

Yes, good choices

The flash and triggers all support high speed sync over 1/200sec (D5200 max sync speed) but unfortunately I don't think the Nikon D5200 does. For some inexplicable and inexcusable reason, Nikon misses this off its entry-level DSLRs, and there's no way around that.

I decided to order the triggers anyway as im sure they will be something i use alot.
Maybe once i start getting the hang of ocf i may upgrade the camera, my wife wants on anyway as does my daughter so maybe they could use the D5200 and i may get something like the D810.

Start with one flash, learn the basics, then build on that. OCF opens up a whole new world of creative opportunity Get this book, the Speedliter's Handbook by Syl Arena. It's just been updated, though the first edition is just as good for the technique stuff.

Don't worry about high speed sync. It's very useful for things like on-camera fill-in at close distance, excellent in fact, but the downside is a big loss of effective brightness - like two or three stops, that is very limiting for much else. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speedliters...39377112&sr=1-1&keywords=speedliters+handbook
