Speedlight Flashes - Connecting remote firing triggers

I think them things are for firing off flash heads which have a PC sync socket not a flash gun. You want something like this wireless trigger.

Yep! That's on order now !!!!

So, if anyone needs what I bought PM me....first come....first gets FOC...

Carl.

So! The new trigger and remote turned up today. It's pretty damn good to say that it cost so little!

Only tried it in the house but pleased that it actually works.

The PT01 unit is really difficult to put onto the 550 but it goes (being very firm but very, very careful not to break the fixing shoe).

The remote transmitter fits onto the camera without issue.

I now need to get out and play with it! Will go Mountain Biking with it and see if I can get some good shots.

Well worth getting one!

Carl.

You need to get over to the strobist.blogspot site and the strobist.com flickr group (despite what I've previously expressed about flickr groups). Someone modded the aerial on their trigger so it works at something like 500m in a locked car. More than you'll ever need but shows how much better it is than optical system.

My stuff turned up today so I'll have a play tomorrow when I'm sobor.

Excuse any chardonnay spelling, I can't be arsed reading my post for typos.

How's the wireless going Carl?

To be honest, it's in my camera bag waiting to be used.

I will try to use it at weekend, if the weather is okay, we'll be going Mountain biking in Dalby Forest and as they have superb tracks and jumps, it'll give me chance to have a ride and then do a photo shoot.

Is that a Canon dedicated unit? Does it still keep the ettl functionality or do you have to set the output manually? Looks just like what I've been wanting for a while :)

Don't think there are any units out there that transmit TTL information without using the inbuilt optical system Dod. It's the same for all camera makes though.

These things are all about doing it manually.

cheers Kev, I'll go read that thread of HUN's again on the MTBs, was a pretty good explanation :)
