Hi I was testing/playing around last night trying create large shadows e.g.: like the ones you see in film noir scene's(Man in rain coat and trilby). I did a couple like that and then thought what else I could use.Yes I know the location is not the best but I don't look a complete idiot doing this in our back garden 
My question is___if I wanted a bit more ambient light in the image and as in this case I was already at my lowest shutter speed I was comfy with 1/60th. Would I have to use a higher iso but then lower the flash power as if I understand this correctly the iso and aperture would both effect the flash input too.
The settings were.
1/160th f7.1 iso 100 flash_ manual 1/2 power
The image below is shot at 1/160th but I did try some @ 1/60th wanted more ambient got confused and packed up.
