speedlight 550 or 430ex?

Which is better to get for doing weddings? Its for my 20D.

I've used a 550 before but know they are a bit dated now- just wondered if the 430 was better or just newer? been offered a 550 for a good price but have enough to buy a 430 ex.

The only thing I'd say James is that you can never have too much power in a flash gun but it's easy to have too little. A flashgun is a vital piece of equipment for any wedding photographer, so get the best you can.

I'm not really familiar with either flash James, but check out the specs and have a look at the guide numbers which are an indication of the unit's power - the higher the guide number, the more power it can put out.

It isn't just about power, as you go up the range you get more features too, so really check those specs. If the flash is something you'll only use now and again then it's probably not worth breaking the bank for, but if you'll use it a lot get the best you can.
