Hi, looking for some advice / info please.

I am using a interfit 2 light head kit, firing with infared remote on the camera which is great because you have got freedom to work, I am going to buy a canon speedlight flash gun but my question is this, can I purchase another light stand and have the speedlight fire remotly aswell along with my 2 interfit heads?

Thanks in advance for any advise you may be able to share.

Steve

yes, get an optical trigger for it, and that's it. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8291

flash in the pan really needs to start stocking these..

Jessops sell them for a tenner too. That will work fine if it's a 430EXMkII and not the Mk1. But if you've got the 430EXMk1, it will fire once and not again until you switch it off and start again.

This seems to be a unique Canon feature, exclusive to the 430EX, 550EX and 580EX guns which have residual current in the hot-shoe after firing and this locks up the slave, preventing subsequent firings.

You can get the slave modified ($45 plus shipping, from Michael Bass Designs) but I got around it by simply switching to radio triggers - Yongnuo RF-602 works a treat from FlashInThePan.

You could do it with just one RF-602 on the 430EX which will then fire the other heads via their built in slaves, but I'd get one for each unit as they're so cheap and you've then got all eventualities covered reliably.

buy a radio slave (rf602) then you can use the 430ex on its own seperately
or use it to trigger the interfits at home
or use the radio slave to trigger the interfits with a cable
