I have just been watching Kevin Bridges on t.v. and they were doing some ourside shots , mostly high up, that gave the effect of a miniture village look to the scene below ! I was wondering if anyone knows how this is done and if it can be done with a still camera ? :help:
 
and before anyone says its perspective...thats not what I mean lol
 
It can be done either in camera by using a tilt/shift lens, or can be done in Photoshop to a normal image, using a gradient blur.

Some cameras have a similar effect built in, called toy or miniature mode. It just blurs the foregound and distance, to mimic the kind of shallow depth of field we get when viewing subjects at close distance, eg a model villiage.
 
forgot to say theres a great 7 or 8 step tutorial on there its really easy to do ! thanks
