After this thread and ordering the Luxi F which was promptly discontinued. And the inability of me to find any of the other tripods for sale
I have decided to spend way more than I wanted to on a tripod.
First let me tell you what I am after, the tripod and head need to fit these criteria as closely as possible:
Use of the tripod will include general photography, panoramas and macro.
So back to the tripod, I dont want to spend much over £100 for both.
The tripod I think I will get is the Manfrotto 190XProB for £90. I came across the 190XB which it seems is the same as the Pro except the centre column doesnt go horizontal. Would this mean it would be more stable with the column at it's longest reach and is this a better bet?
Head wise I have no clue really. I like the idea of a ball head for macro but want to do panoramas as well which seems to be out with ball heads. So I was wondering about a 3-way head instead (and maybe getting a ball head to suppliment it when I have more money). Manfrotto heads that fit this criteria seem to be the 390RC and the 804RC2. Which would be a better bet (if either)?
So any suggestions or opinions?

Be as light as possible, I don't have a car so will be carrying/cycling with it every time I want to use it.
- Be as small as possible when folded up, for the same reason above.
- Be tall enough for a 6'2 bloke to use it without too much difficulty.
- Be reasonably sturdy.
