In the hunt for a studio lighting set up would like 3 heads and budget is £700 and a maxim of 1k if its worth the extra. Will be shooting couples, kids, models etc and the size of the studio 380 square foot and the back drop is 10ft wide & 7ft tall. :)

I'm not too sure what your questions are here...

How much power you need?
Which accessories you need?
Which make you should buy?

Well, the make of course should be Lencarta:) and hopefully this article will help with some of your other questions and this onemay help with the rest

Well, that's a starting point at least - come back with any more specific questions

Thanks Gary for the reply. I'm not sure on how much Power I will need but I'm using my Nikon Flashes. 2 x SB900 & SB800 with Pocket wizards for location stuff at the moment but want something more fixed for the studio. And for accessories so far I have.

2 x 60inc umbrellas
2 x 30inc umbrellas
1 x Softbox
3 stands

;)

Well, hopefully those articles will be of some help with the power. My cautious general view is that 300J is enough for most portrait type studios, most of the time, and when it isn't then increasing the ISO by 1 stop will double the effective power of the flash without, in most cases, compromising image quality much if at all.

In a studio setting you are far more likely to use softboxes than umbrellas, which tend to bounce the light around everywhere and cause their own problems. I'm assuming that the softbox you have is designed to be used with hotshoe flashes, so won't fit most studio flashes

I went the Lencarta route
must say I'm very pleased with the kit (only tried using it in the lounge so far)
can't wait to get it set up in the studio :)
