Im after a budget tripod for photography and video use (Mainly video). Its needs to be strong (Student proof) yet relatively light aqnd relatively cheap. (Might end up buying about 10 of them so the cheaper the better). Last time I was looking for a good solid studio tripod and I was suggested the Slik PRO 700DX. I bought 5 of them and they turned out to be ideal. So im now after similar but smaller and lighter (I know there is the PRO 500DX and PRO 300DX, but wondered if there were other suggestions).

I need a new tripod, I have a great Prisma tripod but lost the adjustable foot so it's useless. I've looked everywhere but no-one stocks prisma now.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went with 8 Slik PRO 500DX in the end. I was very impressed with the 700DX so I hope the 500DX is similar. :)

Starting my own fashion house. :thumbs: Unfortunately its nothing that exciting, its for work. I work as a media tech/IT support in a 6th Form college and im in charge of booking out AV equipment etc. At the moment we use cheap and not so cheerful jessops tripods which are all falling apart. So i've decided to replace them all with more student proof ones.

Fine choice for the dosh MK, I have the 700dx and it seems indestructible.
