Any reason why it's an issue for you? I carried my camera (with battery fitted) in my carry on luggage, and kept spare batteries (along with razor blades, nail clippers etc) in the checked luggage.
Might be worth getting a 3rd party grip (even if you don't like the things, I'm not keen) just for the spare battery carrying capacity. Two extra would do me, might even be able to get another one through stored in the charger.
All Spare Batteries for Consumer Electronic Devices
All spare batteries for consumer electronic devices must be carried in carry-on baggage only. They must be individually protected to prevent short circuit using one of the following:
- In original retail packaging;
- Taping over exposed terminals;
- Placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch.
That's even more of a contradiction!
Is your baggage cleared for take-off?
