Sourcing an extension arm?

Hi,

I'm new to lighting and have been having something of a bad time getting my head around the various non-standardised equipment lists for off-camera flashes. At this point I have a Canon 430EX-II, the Canon wireless controller, and a Lastolite EzBox 90cm All in One kit, all of which I'm loving. However the lastolite kit is just a stand, and that means sometimes it's impossible to get the light where I want without the stand itself ending up in shot. After a bit of reading I think I need something called an extension arm to make the kit "c-stand complete", and allow me to put the light where I want without having a stand in frame. Presumably involving counter weights.

Trouble is, I've not been able to find one or figure out what other gubbins I'd need to get it all to work. I'm keen to avoid the confusion I've had in the past which has led me to buy and sent back the lastolite umbrella kit (which had a rubbish swivel bracket that meant the flash only fires into the top half of the umbrella), acquire a manual flash and two hot-shoe adapters it turned out I didn't need (the adapters I was trying to figure out what type of "connecting gubbins" I DID need), and two radio triggers that don't send ETTL data - I don't want to mess up again like that, it gets expensive. Though the radio triggers at least are still useful.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you :)
