Yes
As title really, we want improved sound from the TV, and have looked at soundbars and soundbases.

At present we are thinking of the Cambridge Audio TV5, does anyone use one or recommend anything else, about £300 budget?

Thanks.

TV is a Panasonic 32", we have no hifi at the moment, and I see now that the Cambridge will be way too big - was looking at sound and not size

Best advice I can give (and have given to hundreds of my patients at work) is to go and listen to them and see which you like...Recommendations are great, but sound is a very personal thing and what I might like, you might not and visa versa, so really you need to listen to them yourself.

If size is an issue with a soundbox, then a sound bar with separate sub maybe the better option - worth looking at can you easily hide the cable to the sub ? If not, then look for a unit that has a wireless sub.

The sub if you're not aware can be positioned anywhere in the room as base isn't a directional sound, so can be popped in a corner.

Thanks Guys, it is in the plan to audition some units, but recommendations do help, as do warnings of poor quality and reliability issues with some models.

Q acoustic does one that attaches to the wall mounts at the back of the TV. You can only use them if it's not mounted to a wall. They are a more traditional design of speaker with larger drivers so should sound better.

I bought a Denon unit from Amazon last year. Very happy with it, it really beefs up the sound generally and gives a lot more oomph, particularly to action films. It has Bluetooth and various sound modes including a pseudo "wide surround" setting. I think it was circa £160 new but we got ours through Amazon Warehouse for £130 (it was brand new with full warranty, just the box had been opened.)

Thank you all
