I need to shot a picture with the subject 'sound'.

I have a couple of ideas but they are quite complex, I have one week to do it.

Any ideas?

Photo Triggers sound trigger and something exploding :D

Put a speaker on it's side with some grains of rice and take shots adjusting the shutter time till you get slight blur from the rice.

Gig shot.

How about a tuning fork vibrating and placed in water creating vibrations through the water / splashes

Good....

There's always..................

Get an OLD speaker. Mix up some water and corn flower then pour it onto the speaker. Then play music through it and watch the mix :D

Someone standing in front of a speaker with their hair blown back and a mad expression on their face? You could use a fan or something to blow the hair. Just a thought.:)

God, there must be something wrong with me, the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was a mancunian with a camera.

what about a photo with a sub woofer and if you have photo shop make some fake sound waves

How about a loud speaker next to a candle flame, so the music makes the candle "bounce", then maybe use a filter to lengthen the exposure time?

I know this is an old thread and the time is well past but to add to Darren's idea, you can use any speaker but if using a current one, stick some clingfilm over the inside of the cone.
