My new laptop has arrived, a Sony vaio. It is quick and lovely but they have filled it with lots of junk - trial versions of software etc. I am happy getting rid of the trial stuff but there is also a lot of vaio stuff there. Will it hurt my laptop if I get rid of that too?

Cheers

There is a piece of software called Dell De-Crapifier which removes all the junk from Dell machines, search to see if there is something similar for Sony machines.

I've got this page bookmarked - although it's primarily about doing a clean install there's a section near the bottom that lists the preinstalled vaio gumf with a high level description

Hey Si,

We have 2 Vaio's at work... As a general rule, I kept anything which was labelled Vaio and deleted the rest!

I have all the software etc so dont worry if you do delete anything you needed.

Did you rescue all your data from laptop RIP?
