Hi all just trying to figure out what stabilisation people use with their a7v(or similar} and 70-200 lens mk11@ 135mm hand held, dont know if im asking too much but tried on all settings (standard ,active and dynamic) lens setting 1 and 3 (not tried 2 yet) and i expected a little better just wondered what you would use for video, thanks

You’re asking too much.
Sony IBIS and most other makes isn’t great in video, Panasonic are miles ahead.
It’s a 70-200 @ 135mm, challenging.
You’d need a high end gimbal with strong motors for a 70-200.
Try using crop mode @85mm first and compare results.

thanks imattersuk ,looking at the dji rs mini 4 it ,takes 2kg and the 70-200 f4 mkii and camera comes in at roughly 1.6kg ,anyones thoughts please

with round grip handle
or use a pistol grip and the tripod 8 inch bar cheap(£20approx) and works better than anything. easy to carry takes little space unassembled

result rock steady even when walking. Why? due to hand position. through camera strap vertical, on the pistol grip on the bar hoizontal.

In most cases better than using a tripod other than for long exposures. often things that are cheap and easy to construct re overlooked because people don't believe it actually works . Well I have been using this setup for years and is my" go to" before any mono/ tripod, even with my camcorder @600mmbbbb.jpg
newer 8 inch flat bar rubber washer to protect under camera.

What many don't realise is not only have I been taking photos since the brownie 127 box camera days ,around 70 years that is. but also all my suggestions are from actual usage and experimenting. In this instance many different ways to stablise a camera to arrive at this. I wanted something cheap can make myself and does the job it is intended for.

All my posts I have experienced myself - been to- or used and done my best to pass on so others gain or benefit from. Many ignore or "mock" but that is their loss not mine

No chance don’t even try it.

You need the Pro model but even then I’d never put a 70-200 on a gimbal

Thanks would a 50fps instead of 25fps make any difference to stabilisation
