Tempted to try one of these but have read many reports of problems with this model. Anyone here suffered with any problems?

It's either that or an iphone - but the newer phones are bigger!
 
I've got a mk1 it's excellent had
it a while no problems at all excellent image quality
I bought it to get better image quality for family snaps than with my mobile phone
It's very good for landscape pictures too
There is a long thread on here on the rx100 worth searching it out

I too have a mk1 and it is an excellent little camera. IQ is excellent, battery life is very good and it takes RAW photos as well. In its time it was the best compact on the market and even today IMO is probably only bettered by the marks 2, 3 and 4 versions.
 
He's following me now Chris, so might take the heat off you for a while ;)
 
I have a mk2, buttons are too small, menu's are poop, slippery as a bar of soap although the grip helps

On the upside, it's pocketable, takes great photos, good battery life

I still don't like it though :D
