Seeking some advice on which would be the better option for a beginner, both seem to have good reviews.
Manual shooting availability would be good for progression but not a must have.
Any users out there wish to share pros and cons?
 
Depends if you are willing to sink money into more lenses.

If you don't want to build up a kit then take the RX100

They are both good cameras, but the RX100 is more compact.

I was facing a similar choice (RX100 III vs A6000), and for me the deciding factor was size - I found the RX100 was too small - it didn't feel comfortable in my hands, so worth checking how each feels.
