Hi all. Can anyone shed any (factual) light (no pun) on the old chestnut of using shoe adaptors on the KM and Sony range. I can't quite reconcile Sony wanting over £100 for a protected shoe adaptor to allow the "safe" connection to studio lighting. However I've an old Jessops / (Chinese ?) adaptor that would do the job but at what risk ? Is there a risk ? Anyone tried it successfully ? Also I'd love to try out my old Olympus T32 flash on my Sony Alpha. Any ideas ??

Minolta used to to Konica Minolta FS-1100 hot shoe adapter. There are now plenty of cheapo ebay alternatives like this one which I have never used but I am told work fine.

Provided your trigger voltages are safe then the one Pete pointed out is fine. If your trigger voltages are too high you either buy the Sony one, fry your camera or find a safe flash.

Thanks people. One aspect resolved - my Jessops relic only has 2 pins so that's headed for the bin. So now it's 13 bucks from China or £ 100 quid plus from Sony. What really irks is I'd put money on Sony having outsourced the production of theirs to China anyway so there's a nice earner in it somewhere. Must be the nice packaging. Ah well.
