Thinking of adding one of these to my setup dont really know which to go for. Wanting to really have a go at bouncing flash and using flash from different angles. Whats peoples experiences with these..I have a sony a37 dslr..can anyone rdccomend an alternative that would support my dslr

Ive not got any experience with Metz, but take a look at the 'Yongnuo YN460-ll'. They do them with a Sony hotshoe (i had a couple when i had my Sony A700)....EXCELLENT value for money.

Is the YN460-II TTL?

I used to have the Metz 50-AF1 for my A77. I also have this now for my Nikon. I really like it. The recharge time is quick and it's pretty sturdy. The only thing I dislike a little bit is the interface isn't the clearest. Not a big thing. Once you know what you are doing it's fine.

On my Sony I now use the HVL-F42AM. I prefer the buttons which lets me quickly select what I want as opposed to the LCD display of the above.

What's your budget for a flash?

Not sure if it still applies, for years Metz was the industry standard. I used and abused them and never had any problems.

Been looking at the yongnuo 460 and 560 today may look at one of these...

I have a Youngno 560-II which I use with my A900, triggered either via my Pixel King radio triggers or using it's inbuilt optical slave - works great either way, plenty of power, lots of control in terms of fine-tuning the output.
