Hi there people can anyone tell me where I can buy a hot shoe adapter for a Sony HVM-F42AM flash gun as I would like to get a light stand and umbrella's but all the brackets I have seen so far will not accept my flash gun hot shoe.....

I hear there is a FS-1200 (Minolta) that you can buy but I cannot source one within the UK or even find a generic brand that does the same thing....

really would appreciate any help on this matter or maybe someone has even got one laying around from some old Minolta kit?

please please help and thanks in advance.

Jurgen:)

ebay.

Think that's what you need, it's the reverse of the normal Sony hotshoe adapter which allows you to connect other flashes to a Sony camera. The one I linked appears to allow you to connect Sony (or Minolta) flashes to a conventional hotshoe.

Many thanks onomatopoeia this is what i need for sure but I just cannot seem to find anywhere within the UK that sells such an adaopter? very strange i thought as surely Minolta have been around for years before Sony bought them so with that in mind why oh why is it so very hard to find an adapter? I am baffled by this for sure.....

again thanks for your reply

This probably does (it can be paired with this to make an off-camera flash cable for your 42AM).

I have the Minolta version of same purchased in the dim and distant past and it will fit a standard hotshoe underneath, as well as having a tripod screw hole.

Given the price, better to get the Chinese clone.

Hi there onomatopoeia yeah I think the chinese option is the better one as this looks to be slightly differant where as the chinese one is an actual convertor from minolta / sony to a speedlight plate which is what is required for these brackets that attatch to a light stand but many many thanks for your help and support.
