Sony. Ea1

Hi all
I have a sony nex5r
And just got a sony ea1. Nex. E mount to a mount. Lens adapter

Works with sony lens. But when I put my minolta lens. 50mm. F1.7. It won't auto focus.
Is this a known problem.

yup that's normal. it only works with lenses that have a focus motor (SAM, SSM - the old minolta one's don't).

should do as it has a screw drive connector.
it might be cheaper to buy a Sony 1.8 DT SAM though (~£90 new or cheaper s/h).
of course the ea2 would also give you phase detect focus so much faster AF.
