Sony E-Mount Adapters

K&F are OK, but don't expect a snug fit to the camera. I've had a few adapters, and while they aren't the worst, there's a bit of movement with mine.

As the older Nikon lenses had aperture rings, you only need a basic 'dumb' adapter, all they are is a space filler really. Doesn't have to be a K&F, I've had no name adapters that were as solid that cost less than £10

If you opt for the cheapest. Chances are you'll loose auto focus etc.

I bought a Sony adapter E to A mount to
continue using my 105mm Macro lens which is an A mount lens. I use it on my Sony a7Rii with no loss of any electronics auto focus etc etc.

Les :)

Ai-S is a manual lens. TBH I'm not aware of an adapter that allows Nikon F AF lenses to function, though Metabones might make one at £400+
There are a few now but they're still in the first generation so not very reliable (not Metabones AFAIK).

Of course the Techart Pro (with a LM-Nikon adapter) will autofocus lighter Ai lenses too. It has a reasonably normal focusing range on lenses up to 50mm, but needs a degree of pre-focusing with longer lenses.

Nikon don't adapt very well AF-wise, Canon are best for that. I assumed the OP meant MF, and in that case any old cheap adapter does the trick [for lenses with an aperture ring]

Yes thank you gents. It is a manual focus lens - I thought I only needed a basic converter but wasn’t sure!

Will the converters still allow me to focus wide open and only close the aperture when the shutter is released or is that not the case when adapting lenses?
The aperture won't close automatically when taking a shot. You can still focus wide open but then (unless the lens has a A/M switch) you have to twist the aperture ring to the right point which can be a bit of a pain.
