I have created a video in vegas from a sixth form prom. It consists of a slide show of stills, and then goes into to a portion of video.

I have exported the video, it plays fine on my computer. Uploaded it to the web, still looks great. But as soon as I put it on a DVD the quality goes down the swanny.

I am using DVD architect, creating a single item project. The first part of the slideshow using the still looks terrible, pixelated and with loss of detail. Though I am not really noticing anything up with the moving video part.

Can anyone suggest why this might be?

Totally different render settings when outputting to DVD.

You will need to render it out as mpeg2 of the highest quality for DVD.

Anything else and you're effectively rendering/converting twice, hence the loss of quality.

Out to a wedding soon but, give me a call tomorrow if you want to run through settings.

Cheers Pete, any help you could give me when you get a chance would be great!

I did try rendering to mpeg2 and separate audio file which did the same thing, I also tried burning to DVD straight from Vegas, so I assume that should have been the correct settings? But it did exactly the same thing.

This is a screen dump of the slideshow. The image on the left is from the original rendering played from my pc, the images on the left is the same slide, but played from the dvd. It shows the sort of difference I am getting.
