sony does cash back, but only for A700, why not all ranges?

i've seen nikon and currently canon which do cash back offers with alot of their range in the dslr.

why has sony only chosen to pick it for just one model?

anyone think they might do a cash back offer in the near future extended across their range?

Doubt it, the rest of the range are already cheap enough. They may do a cashback on the A900 during Xmas though.

The manufacturers will only put it on the bodies/lenses that they want to shift for whatever reason.

For instance, back in March Canon had an offer on the 400D, 40D and 5D bodies. The 400D is now superceded and the 50D won't be long now making the 40D redundant and spec similar or better than the 5D. Reason for everything
