Hello all im new to this and was wondering if it is at all possible to do light trails with the sony cybershot w560.

any help would be appreciated

From the specs the slowest shutter speed is 2 seconds, which is a little short for light trails. Getting creative, perhaps you could stack a series of 2 sec exposures? Not sure how effective that would be..
 
what do you mean stack ? ive managed to get water to look misty type of thing by putting iso to 80 it slows the picture taking down so to speak if u no what i mean?:)
 
How slow did you get shutter speed for the misty water?

By stacking I was wondering if using 2 seconds for dense traffic, taking lots of shots and combining enough of them would fill in the gaps and get enough density into the trails. I haven't tried this, but it's worth a shot.
 
i cant remember how slow it was but it was enough to make it look slightly misty instead of looking like normal water
