Hi, is it worth me spending money on one of these in a few months? I do like the convenience of a bridge camera but understand they have limited capabilities, mainly due to the small sensors.

This one has a 1 inch sensor, so that must be a good thing right?

I like taking pictures of various subjects, particularly landscapes and more 'arty' type pictures along with attending airshows. I'm new to the game so just enjoy playing at the min.

The thought of having to lug heavy bag through an airshow/streets, or limit the space in my carry on at the airport is a big thing to me. I also like having the zoom facility, something I assume would need like 3 lenses for if I bought a 'proper' camera?

Only you can decide if it's "worth it". It's a very capable camera capable of some very nice images. In terms of IQ it's much better than your average bridge camera, not as good as m4/3, APS-C, Full Frame etc.

You're not going to get a larger sensor system with a 24-600mm reach without having at least two lenses, such as the m4/3 12-100mm (24-200mm eq) and 100-300mm (200-600mm eq) which is going to add bulk and weight, not to mention the 'inconvenience' of switching lenses.

I think it'll make a good day out and holiday camera.

I have a 1" sensor TZ100 compact camera and I agree with Toby above in that the image quality from 1" sensor cameras generally lags behind APS-C and MFT but if you don't expect excellent high ISO/low light performance and don't pixel peep too much you'll likely get some good results and the zoom range is very nice.

PS.
You could always buy my TZ100... but it only has a 25-250mm zoom.

I was thinking about some alternative ways to make money with my camera.

My photographer friend recommended some of these to me. He looks for games on https://casinonlinenieuwe.com/casino-zonder-registratie/ and often wins. I was thinking about trying it too, what do you think?
For your needs, a 1-inch sensor bridge camera is convenient, portable, and decent for travel, landscapes, and casual zoom shots!

My favourite camera and the one I am always happy to take out as it pretty much never fails to impress me with the results. I have lots of shots on the thread dibbly dobbler suggested above. Only downside is it is expensive secondhand as new isn't available anymore.

I had one for a while and yes it’s very capable, and if you’ve never had a DSLR or mirrorless camera before then you’ll be happy with the image quality.

It’s still a biggish camera though, but the focal length of the lens is incredible and incredibly useful.

I have the pana. DC-TZ 95. Ok size wise for a pocket I supost and for "snaps", Not my go to camera by any means, that is because the Pana G9ii takes first place
not much bigger P1015822.jpg

Must say I've had lots of SLR and DSLR cameras over the last 54 years and I'm more than happy with the results of the RX10 iv, but if you want to pixel peep at massive sizes then hey get a larger sensor. I view my photos no larger than A3 or full screen on my 5k imac at most so more than enough quality for me from the rx10 iv's 20mp sensor.
