Does anyone know what makes the a9 Sony's best focusing camera a review even says its better than the new r4 but what makes it better .
On Canon the 1d series has a more powerful battery and twin processors hence it is there top of the range.
Rob.

Sonys action camera is the A9. Its the RS sensor and Bionz X processor that make it fast.
The A7R is for resolution
The A7 is for all round

Basically it’s the speed at which it can read the data from the sensor and then analyse it.

The stacked sensor allows the data to be read across the whole frame in approx 1/150th second (sources vary on the actual speed, but it’s a lot faster than others, up to 20x the speed)

Combined with the processor, this data is used to perform AF calculations 60 times per second, about 3x faster than the A7III (20 times per second)

The A7IV doesn’t have the stacked sensor for will be limited at how fast it can get the data to the processor to perform the AF calcs

Thanks for reply's it's just what i wanted to know and gives me a better understanding of the system layout.
