Anyone recommend a place (not too expensive) to get a spare Battery & a Corded Remote for the Sony A55. Thanks for any help.

I got two 3rd party batteries for £24 from a UK-based eBay seller last week. They arrived in 2 days and both work perfectly.

Keep an eye on Jessops bargain bins for the remote, if you're near a branch. I picked one of the short ones up for 50p a couple of months back

Thanks. I Got one from Ebay & will look in Jessops next time I'm there.
 
There are 3rd party cable remotes on Amazon for £5-6.
