Hi chappies, having a major brain crippling moment!!!

I bought the studio kit from StableImaging which came yesterday, but to my dismay my camera has nowhere for the sync cable to plug in (please excuse me, this is my first venture into studio lighting!!)
So..I emailed Neil at Stableimaging who recommended I get a hotshoe adapter, and he linked me to this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370320754630&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

which I bought.. it arrived today, but what the hell! I cannot see how it attaches....is there another thing I need in order to attach this thing!?

Totally confused, any help greatly appreciated

:shake:

remove the hotshoe cover from your A100.
slide adapter onto hotshoe
plug cable into adapter

What you've bought is an optical slave for a Sony flashgun,to allow it to be triggered by your camera's onboard flash,it's not something that mounts onto your camera. What you need is a hotshoe adapter with a connector for a pc cable on it, I have them on my sales thread.....

I've actually got one of those in front of me. It actually fits onto a non sony hotshoe and a sony flashgun can sit on the top. I bought it so it would fit on one of those unbrella holding thingies (Sorry for being too technical :p) but the problem with them is that the flash thinks it's attached to the camera and won't fire remotely.

Something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370222654856&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT appears to have a pc connector on it, although the text doesn't say so.

Sony make one but it's ridiculously expensive, getting on for £100. The non-entry level alphas have a pc socket built in.

I can't find the equivalent item on FITP's topic (at least not on the first page). My observation skills may have failed though!

No pic of it, just a line of text at the bottom of the second post
