I have an image that I want someone to print for me. It's from a race that I covered this year. Messing about with the Nik Collection, I finished up with an photograph that I PERSONALLY quite like. One of the runner's wives asked me to send it off for printing and she had it framed. Due to the fact that my monitor probably is calibrated correctly, I felt that the print was a bit on the dark side. I want it to look more "arty" as though it is almost a sketch or a charcoal drawing. Is there a company who will take instructions and have the know-how to choose a specific paper to make the most of this snap?

It looks fine tone wise on my screen which is matched to DSCLs output, however it has a greeny blue colour cast, it would look better IMO as a pure greyscale image.

You are a star Alan. I'm a bit thick, what's the quickest way to change to greyscale using Lightroom. Apologies for lack of knowledge.

The cast appears to have gone now. Quickest way to go black and white in Lightroom is to simply desaturate the image.

Sometimes an image "looks" as though it would be great if enlarged while others don't. And YET, it can be the opposite. Frustrating, not knowing whether it's worth spending money having it processed.
