I was sitting in it and some twit reversed into me.

Poor woman got out the car and burst into tears.

Apparently will get a C class merc for a bit.

they did try giving me a cors first, until I pointed out the Jag was the type of car my clients expect to see.

Oh well.
 
Ouch! Hope there's not too much damage and that it gets sorted quickly.
 
its a shame about what happened to the car - at least the driver sonds genuinely sorry or was crying over her NCB dissapearing!

Can you not explain (if need really be) to your clients that someone reversed into your car ?

Shoot me down if you like, but I find comments like that unnecersary.

Unless of course a Jag REALLY is what your client MUST see.

First impressions count! Even more so in business I guess. Can think of a few examples where a courtesy/hired out Corsa really wouldn't give the right impression.

oh yeah and bad luck PsiFox :( guess you can just be glad they didn't back into you then just drive off like most people seem to do these days.

Hmm, I dont do this 'image' thing, so I guess I'll just never understand.
 
I had a Range Rover which was driven into by someone else. The insurance company tried to give me a small car (can't remember which one) while mine was being repaired and I refused. In the end they gave me a new Disco.

The courtesy car should be a like-for-like car to the one insured: simple.

I dont base a persons ability to do something on what car they own.

My dads a financial advisor and he says the same thing about his car (merc)

Thing is, I know he'd be just as good a financial advisor if he drove a Vauxhall Corsa / battered A reg escort / etc etc....

I hope your car gets fixed quickly PSI !!

You know that 'cos your his son. I stranger wouldnt no that would they. Really its like turning up to a meeting in a football kit not a suit. :)
 
in my business image is important. i did not mean it in any kind of snobby way, just that when I am trying to persuade a client they should be spending many thousands with me the Car is a sign that I do at least know my business and am good at it.

Even more so in a recession.

Goes in for estimate on monday with work to commence Friday.

Must say impressed by Tesco, the other persons insurance.

Called me within 1 hour to arrange repair and delivery of hire car to the bodyshop.
 
Good point about image PsiFox, that goes for everything your customer sees (including business cards those of you wanting to buy cheap ones :) )
 
ive got a corsa :(

understand what you mean though

id be gutted if someone reversed into my corsa its my pride and joy

totally agree. Anyone in business would share that same viewpoint.

I had a 9 yr old girl cycle, at speed, into the side of my S Type. I was the victim and the girl's mother called the Police :shrug: It all got sorted, the copper told her, rather politely I thought, that she was being stupid. And I had to put up with an X Type :( whilst mine was being repaired.

Sadly, I no longer have the S Type. Why oh why did I sell it?

My first accountant drove a Lada, he was awful. The next one drove a Jag. He was excellent.:thinking:
