Week 13 Empty- Post 1
Week 14 - Object - Post 12
Week 9 - Object - Post 18

Hi! I'm Will, so I thought I would join in. - I've missed the first 12 weeks, and might occasionally try to do one of those themes, just to mess the order of my thread around a bit.

I'm new to photography, so thought I would try this and give it a go. I seem to be the first for this week, how did that happen.

I might reshoot this, or if I suddenly come up with a better idea try that.

As said, I'm new to photography so it's hardly amazing. Hoping to improve with this challenge.

In case anyone checked this thread earlier, I have changed the original picture, as this one is sharper, and I like the B&W version more. :)

Hi Will & welcome to the 52's , be warned....it's addictive

I saw your original image & agree with you that the cropped image & B?W conversion works better . Can see your thought process that a flat bag is empty so nice start to your thread

Thanks :)

I thought the 52 week challenge was a good way to improve, and make sure I use my camera every week.

It was a nice looking bag, and wasn't shiny. I took it under the only white street lamp on my road.

Welcome to the challenge Will,

I like the shot & it's a good take on the theme.
I'm normally panicing around this time on a Sunday to try & post this weeks shot

Hopefully you'll stick with it, like you say it gives you a reason to get the camera out at least once per week.

Mick

Hi, Will and welcome on-board.

The empty space around the empty bag works quite well.

I'd like to see the lower fold in the bag pushed down so more of the writing/logo was more visible.

Cheers.

Hiya Will,

Welcome to the mad and crazy world of the Photo52, I hope you enjoy your time here and most of all gain from the learning experience.

Good take on the theme for Empty and I look forward to seeing your future weeks and any that you manage to catch up on.

Good luck,

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks for the comments all :)

I will try and catch up occasionly (in a random order probably just to mess things up). I'm looking forward to the next theme.

I have a rather poor shot that I took the other day that fits one of the themes... Might post it up.

Week 14: Object

Holding an object?
IMG_2265.jpg

I took this picture yesterday, it wasn't intentional for it to be this weeks theme, but it fits quite nicely.

I have a few pictures where the object is more in focus:

IMG_2262.jpg

I don't personally like them as much, I think it just looks like I've messed up the focus on the picture of the child. I think my first one fits the theme well enough without having to have the object crisp in the foreground. But then again, it was intended to be a picture of the child, so I like the first one I posted more.

Hiya Will,

The focus is definitely better on the object in the second image. Great catch light in the eyes though.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Have to agree that the second shot is better for the theme. Although the focus is on the child in your first shot I think too much of the face is covered by the salt grinder for that shot to work really well. But the second shot shows what the photo is about under the context of our theme but is also a more intriguing portrait.

So last week, I was busy, and had literally no good ideas that were practical to carry out :D

Paradox is interesting, I will try and come up with a photo for it at some point - if not this week, sometime soon. But for the sake of not neglecting the thread, here is some catchup.

Week 9 - Finish - something I finished off earlier....

Hardly the best photo I've ever taken, but I wanted to post something.

Hiya Will

The photo definitely fits the theme of 'Finish'.

Not sure .... but does your camera need a serious clean or all all the spots I see OOF specs on the counter? There are quite a few.

Cheers

Dawn :)

My Camera does need a clean, but it's no where near that bad. I took the photo on a dusty windowsill, so all the specs are bits from that where I didn't clean it properly first.
