Hey everyone.

A long time ago I "aquired" a copy of Photoshop 7 off a friend, and have been using it ever since. It mostly does everything I need, but everyone nowadays seems to have CS2 or higher. Can I download an upgrade for free, or do I need to buy it?

Also, where can I get a photoshop plug in for opening RAF files?

Thanks :)

Ewan

I think the camera raw plugin you require will only be available in CS2.

If your copy of Photoshop 7 is not genuine then no you can't buy an upgrade.

I only have Photoshop 8 (CS1) and it is not supported by the Camera Raw plugin version required for my camera.

But you can run the latest version of the Adobe DNG convertor as it is a standalone application, and free, and use convert files before importing.

It means an extra intermediate step but it give you the latest camera support for older versions of PS. And if you are going to use PS for resizing, sharpening, curves etc. anyway then using the DNG convertor is no less hassle than using a separate raw convertor.

Michael.

I have Photoshop CS and the raw plugin doesn't support our camera. The later plugins are only available for CS2 and later, so we're pretty much screwed, heh. Which sucks duck bum.
