Yes
Right I've had my Canon 450D for a couple of weeks now and enjoy the pictures I get from the 18-55 lens. But I would like to try other stuff rather than photos at weddings and parties.

I've just ordered a Giottos 3261 tripod with 5001 head so I can try some of the long shutter type photography where you get streams to look like clouds etc.

I'm also wanting to do some football and mtb photograhy and use the same lens when I go on my honeymoon to Vegas next year.

I've been reading through loads of reviews and have narrowed it down to either a Canon 70-200 IS f/4 or Canon 100-400 IS f4.5-5.6. I will use the lens for sports etc. and just walking around on city tours.

My overall plan is to end up with 3 lenses maximum. A short wide angle lens (-28mm), a mid range lens (24-28mm-70-105mm) and a longer zoom lens (200mm+).

So would the 70-200 be ok with an extender or should I fork out the extra for the bigger lens.

Many thanks in advance.

How about the 70-200 f2.8 (with or without IS) and an extender as you get f2.8 when you need fast apertures for sport and a 1.4 extender will take it close to 300mm

Thanks for quick response

That too was another option I was looking at. Comes in at £1001 from Onestop for the IS model which I'm thinking I'll need to use hand held.

Has anyone used Onestop here, I've heard they are OK.
