Some help please

Please bear with me as I am not very technical minded and you might not get what im trying to say
I recently purchased a nikon d3000 and so far so good, but today when I attached the lens I noticed that it was all cloudy, like there was a fog if you get what I mean, I took off the lens and looked through the eye piece again and it was still cloudy. I gave the inside of the camera a clean ( where the lens attaches to the camera) but its still cloudy.
I was thinking maybe it was condensation from me removing camera from my bag out into the cold air???
Has anyone got any idea what it could be and if it will go away on its own??
I've only just bought it!!

Interesting. Have you got a lens cleaner? I.e. 1 of those cloths you can buy for giving it a wipe. If so Try wiping both ends of the Lens with it. If you don't have a lens cleaner one for a pair of glasses would do the trick. Key is don't using just anything to clean the lens as some fibres could scratch the glass (e.g. definitely don't use a brillo pad )

If that fails take a photo and post it up here to show us the problem.

(What's the kit lens with the D3000 by the way? Is it the 18-55mm?)

You usually get condensation when you bring a camera from the cold into the warm - not the other way round.

Are you sure you just didn't breath on the eye piece and mist it up. I'm forever doing that when I'm standing behind the camera on a tripod

when you are fiddling with the controls you can breathe on the eyepiece..mines clears quite fast..
also as suggested...allow the camera to 'cool off' if you take it outside from the house..houses are notorious for condensation
