Hi all,

I could really do with some advice as I'm thinking about upgrading my camera. I have a Canon EOS 30D and 3 lenses a 18-55mm, 75-300 and a sigma 18-200 plus filters. And I would like to go full frame which would mean changing all my lenses as well.

What would you all suggest I should go for as I'm torn over the Canon 5D or the Nikon D700 I have a small budget, and selling of all my equipment would be added to the budget to help. I'm at a loss. I would like a good lens which would help reduce noise as I aspire to be a good landscape photographer one day lol and a full frame camera so I can capture more of what I see around me.:help:

From a Canon perspective I'd go for a seconhand 5D and a TS-E24L or an EF24L. I'm sure the Nikon equivalent would also give you what you need.

A MkI 5D would leave you plenty of spare cash for new glass, the D700 would mean starting from scratch not only with glass but learning a new operating system too...

The Mk1 5D is a good option. Wait until the Mk2 starts to become available and you should be able to pick up one at a good price. I would also say that a camera with the quality of the 5D does demand L glass if you can afford it

I would ask though in what way do you think your present kit is limiting you, and what do you think Full Frame will bring to the table ?

Hi Chappers, thanks for the advice I wanted to go full frame a long time ago but money was a bigger issue I have been upgrading as I get more experance and learn more I've gone from a point and shoot onto a 300D, then I had a little play on the 20D in mind to buy one but the 30D came out and it seemed the next step for me. Now I want to go full frame as this seems the next step forward but a bigger step (money wise) and a L series lens as I have used one on a friends mk1 and the picture quality is outstanding. I know I wouldnt be able to rise the funds for a mk1 but the 5D is in my range.
