right tomorrow im gonna take photos of the ferry thats run aground off the coast of cleveleys near blackpool, no particular reason other thasn i thought it mite be fun. i have these lenses, a sigma, 70-300 a tameron 55-200 and a cannon 18-55, i wanna know which would be the best to use as i dont want to have to change lenses in the rain.
it lies around 50 yards from the sea wall,:help:

whats the aperture rating for the lenses?

just that the forecast for tomorrow is a bit ploppy and a faster lens might be better than being able to zoom in further.

the longest reach you've got and then some!

im not sure on technical stuff where wud i learn that info?

oh im going at low tide so i can get closer

if the ->300 is at f5.6 and the ->200 is at 2.8 you may get some better shots with the 200 (and then just crop) if its really overcast.

but if they are both similar then go for the 300

having said this I am probably not the best person to be asking this question to so will wait until somone with real knowledge comes along :)

also depends on how close you wil be able to get to it. the closer you can get the less zoom you will nee (obviously) so take both and a bin bag to change the lenses in :D

also consider a DIY lens\camera cover.

when i did the wolf day thing I learnt a very valuable lesson about keeping your camera and lens dry.

again if you dont have a proper cover a bin bag is your friend. plus some sellotape. makes a decent (if naff looking) temp camera and lens protector.

cool :) i only have swing bin little bags but shud do the trick

Reckon you will be in a crowd tomorrow the forecast isn't too good windy as it always is in Blackpool mind so you may get some good shots I don't think you will get onto the beach from what I have seen on the tv this evening.

Cheers
Bill
