Sold photos on to canvas .... Is it possible

Come on people give me some advice on getting an old 8x6 print put on to canvas

A friend of mines asked if its possible as it's an old photo of his Granda and he'd prefer to keep the 2 originals in the box and have a new canvas up on the wall

Is it just a simple case of basic scanning the image and sending it off for print or is there special equipment used to get a better scan???

If the original's 8 x 6" you've a better chance than if it was smaller. The trick to scanning is in the scan software and adjusting the levels to get the tonal range right. Also you might or might not want to (cough, sorry) clone out dust specks ...

Be advised that a canvas surface for a photo print is a somewhat tasteless option ... a photo isn't a painting.
