Software to produce infra-red photos?

I know you can physically alter the camera to take infa-red photos but is there away to get software to do this with RAW images as its alot less drastic then breaking down my Nikon D5000 and altering the insides of it

Photoshop has an IR Image/Adjustments/Black and White then theres a preset,then adjust to your taste, or Im sure theres actions, or filters such as alienskin exposure that has infra-red filters

Pick up a cheap D70, and bung on an IR filter, they work a treat without any conversion, and you have a back-up camera.

Can SOFTWARE make an IR photo, the answer is NO, it can make a photo LOOK infar-red.

Do as above and buy a screw-in IR filter for your lens.
