Edit My Images
No
Hi all,

Just after a bit of software that will easily sort out images into the 3 categories. Yes, No or Maybe, for when a customer is selecting their prefered photos.
I want the functionality taken from Pro Select, without everything else that comes with it.

I was due to buy Pro Select but far too many things i want changing, and they dont seem to be happening, so going down a much more comfortable route at a fraction of the cost.

So anyone know of any as googling it is tricky.

I do this myself in Lightroom.

Lightroom was my first thought too but you may be looking for something simpler so Windows Live Photo Gallery might be an answer. The number keys 1 to 5 will assign star ratings to an image and the stars are visible in windows explorer for easy listing afterwards.

Woudl that work whilst doing it with a client ?

Looking for a clean easy solution as its the only part of my customised workflow that i cant get quite right. Working on 2 screens want to separate each image based on the clients requirements.

I use photomechanic for this. It's rocket fast and specifically designed for this type of scenario.

I have used Faststone (free) before but it only has one box to 'Tag' so it would be a yes or no choice.........sometimes not a bad thing! You could move all the non-selected images into another folder and do the choice run again for the Maybe's.

The big advantage with faststone it's full screen and one click zoom in for detail, something I have never found on any other free software.

Virtual all photo software has some form of tagging or rating system so:

Canon DPP
Aperture
Lightroom
Fast Stone
Adobe Bridge
Photomechanic
Picassa

in fact I would think it harder to find software that wont do it.

That looks good but how do you tag a photo?

Right click tag is greyed out?

In folder view click on the small box to the left of the image size.

Once clicked the box changes to red

Thanks for the help but mine didn't have a wee box.

All is now well, eventually discovered a setting in thumbnails that you have to click to get that wee box to show up.

Must admit it is quite a good viewer.

Thanks for the list acetone but tagging or rating is exactly what i dont want.
Ta though.

I use Faststone for Slideshows on separate monitors, good bit of software.

Will look at PhotoMechanic, but already noticed its $150 :)

I use Bridge, and just use the colour tags for Yes/Maybe type selections. It's easy to whizz through in Filmstrip view and just Ctrl+6 all your yes pictures and Ctrl+7 all your maybes.

If you've got Photoshop, you've probably got Bridge, too!
