Hi guys!

I am buying my new D7000 tomorrow and I can't wait to start shooting an filming with my new toy :)

Which video editing software you use and why?
I am thinking about shooting some band videos in the future and I would like to start learning video editing software asap.

All help appreciated

Seb

Final Cut for Mac.

Why? Because it's probably the best on the market. It was even used in one of the scenes by the producers of the new movie True Grit.

How much are you willing to spend? Which UI are you using Windows or Mac?

Windows 7 32/64bit. And Linux! :P
Money: I will pay what I have to pay for a decent software.
Bear in mind that I know nothing about video editing and it will be a big learning curve for me. But I am a very fast and ambitious student :D

You probably need to be sure that Premiere Elements 9 allows 24->25p conversion. This thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/781383 suggests it does (scroll down to the images showing the Interpret Footage option) but you might want to download the trial version first to see...

Vaughan, Andy: I will download free trial from Adobe website and I will see what I can squeeze from it. Any alternatives?

After Effects !!!
Not really a video editing program though - more a psot prod. program (hence the name!!). It's also a bit higher cost than Elements 9...

sony vegas does it for me

I'd avoid pinnacle, it always seems to be riddled with problems, especially on the DVD conversion side. Vegas always gets a big thumbs up though :)

You'll get an idea of what's available here and you can go check out other reviews if there's anything you fancy....
