The continuous lights I have are supplied with the worst softboxes I've ever come across. Utterly useless and impossible to assemble. The lights themselves are solid so I am looking for some softboxes that will fit over them. The basic issue with the lights is that the poles to make them rigid aren't fixed properly. They're loose and are meant to sit in a pocket on the reflector and there is a hole at the light end for them to stick into. Except they fall out of either end the entire time you try and put them together.

I'm looking for a softbox (60 cm min) with a rigid collar/poles etc that fit around the lights to make sure the softbox isn't leaning all over the bulbs.

I'd quite fancy a set of barn doors as well...

Any recommendations?

It will all depend on what fit they are, such as s fit or the like, if any, if they are specific to your lights may not be possible to get any.

The lights have 8 holes in them for thin poles. You only use 4 with the supplied softbox. I have no idea what fit that is.

I got them from Bessell. I don't think they are their own brand though. Some chinese imports I reckon judging by the weird language in the instructions.

If they are Chinese imports then think they would most likely not be a standard fit, so not able to get more modifiers, at a guess. do you have a link to them?

Going by that you are not going to get any other modifiers for them, if the softboxes are not working as meant to, i.e. not fitting together would suggest speaking to bessel and see what they say.

That's my only option now. I'd expect ebay specials to have poor softboxes but not kits supplied by Bessel.

Can't you send them back Suz, and start again?

If they make a fuss, maybe exchange for flash heads and some easy push-up softboxes?

The lighting kit is very similar to this photogeek's one but I notice even this has proper stays to keep the poles in place!

There are a couple with the same light heads - they take 4 bulbs.

They have already said I can send them back for a refund. I'm just surprised that they have put their name to a kit that is so poor.
