So, where do you sports photographers position yourselves

He was just keeping still so he didn't put the kicker off

The photographer wasn't even in the way.
The players a muppet if you ask me.:D

I watch every single NRL game live on the Premier sports channel and the grounds or who ever is responsible are way way more lax regarding restrictions placed upon photographers regarding pitchside positioning, they even seem to allow "running the line" which would have suited a lost but not forgotten colleague Maurice Jones

The player is an absolute legend! In the NRL the photographers spend most of the game running up and down the line and must lose their bearings a lot!

Correct Gary. Pretty much all of the photographers there are Getty or part of the NRL themselves and so do whatever the hell they want. The red line in the pic goes all the way round the pitch and I was told I could go anywhere outside of that, move whenever you want etc. So if the photographer was positioned there before the try was scored it seems he is on the long lens and not paying much attention to JT! :)

And when you have such approachable and amenable players ike JT on the field itmust make a snappers job so much more enjoyable

If that had been a premier league footballer.
They would have collided with the photographer, rolled about on the ground for two minutes and then gesture to the referee to give him a red card.:)

the guy is indeed Getty & he's now shooting over here :)
