I am not talking about your fantasy wish list but what you next intend to buy when your current funds allow?

My next items are:

- Simga 10-20
- Manfrotto 190PROXB (still deliberating on this one) and an undecided head.

Whats yours?
 
Have you not bought that tripod yet! Bloody hell, ain't there a decent camera shop near you or something!!


Me? I am going to look at remote triggering next.

where to start....

Ok, due to planned holiday in driving round the Norwegian Fjords in a few months time, it has to be a wide angle lens, looking at several including that sigma 10-20, but it may yet be the Tokina 12-24 as budget is tight because the holiday isnt exactly a cheap one.

Otherwise, a macro, Sigma 105mm is looking good or maybe a tamron 90mm....

lol...I have spent too much lately as it is and I have just purchased a camera backpack so waiting for my bank stash to catch up :)

Besides I am not so fussy on the weight now so my choices have grown again and I am if'ing and buting everywhere :thinking:

Well I've just spent every penny I have on the 18-200 VR and some accessories for it, so at the moment I can't afford anything!

In the near future I intend to get:

New tripod head - haven't decided on a 3-way or ball head - any advice?

Wide angle lens either sigma 10-20 or Nikon 12-24.

Maybe a TC to increase the range of the 18-200

I'm getting a new laptop in October so everything really needs to be put on hold until then. I would love to upgrade to a D200 after that though.

A macro lens. I think im going with one of these two;

Nikkor AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED

Sigma APO MACRO 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM

Then I could do with; a remote trigger, another battery, a 10-20mm lens, a macro rail, some ND filters, some ND grad filters, a bigger bag, a better wriststrap, a telephoto lens (something like a 70-300). And the list goes on and on.:thinking:
 
Well my 70-2002.8IS and 2X TC have been despatched so I should see them Monday. This puts me just about where I want to be with lenses for the forseeable future... thank goodness. The 2X TC maximises all the potential of my 500mm so I'm a happy rabbit.

I can't see me needing to part with dosh for major items now until substantial new model developments make the think it's time to consider body replacement.
 
I'm going for the 580EX first & then either the 17-40 or the 10-20 - not sure which yet but will post for advice :thumbs:
I have only just bought a manfrotto 393 gimbal stylee head & an 055 PROB tripod so I am very happy at the mo :D (but also very skint :shake: :p )

Mine'll be a Pint of Stella cheers Sie :thumbs:

Shame you dont use Nikon, my 10-20 is for sale,...

Next buys:

  • Something with VR
  • Maybe an old 180mm f/2.8 D ED
  • Maybe an 80-200 f/2.8 AFS D ED (if I can find somewhere that has them in stock!)
  • An SB-800
  • A stand for the SB-600 so I can use iTTL wireless flash system baby!
 
ill be getting a 1d Mk3 probably in the near future, once they become generally available anyway, and a bigger beefier tripod other than that im quite happy with the kit ive got :)

oh and a monopod and flash extender ;)
 
thinking of a wideangle also...undecded on what yet though
 
An external battery pack for my flash. I'm rather hoping that a chunk of the cash towards that will come along for my birthday in July TBH. I also want a macro lens, although unless a stonking bargain comes along on ebay that will have to hang on until the winter. I'd like to think that the prices are going to fall far enough on 1Dmk2N's that I could consider a body-upgrade, but somehow can't see it happening. :shake:

Oh - and I'd like Play.com to get some stock in on those Extreme III 4gb cards too......

I went for the Tamrac expedition 5 in the end as it seemed it would more likely accomodate the 300 F4 I am drooling over at the moment :)

I like it alot but then again it's the first camera specific sack I have had so it's bound to impress me (have used a 20litre daypack upto now). It copes well with my lightweight velbon maxi I 343E but I am wondering how it will balance with the more heavy duty tripod I intend to get soon.

a wee nifty, not sure which make yet though.

Right now nothing really, just got my 70-200 F2.8 IS, maybe some studio lights at some stage.
 
Currently happy with my equipment. Going to replace the Sigma 24-70 with the Canon purely due to build quality and USM. When funds are available I'll be looking to get a nice small digital compact, like a Leica D-Lux 3 or the Panasonic LX2. Just something light that'll allow me to do street photography, capture shots of my nephew and things. Bit annoying lugging the 30D and such around, especially on a hot day where I just can't go out without the camera incase of "what if."
 
Well, now I have my 70-200mm I thought my wish list was complete, but I quite like the idea of a wide angle lens.....not silly wide, just a bit wider than my 24-70. The 17-85 that I have is not good enough......distortion etc, so I have a few to consider......16-35 mark 2 is appealing.....;)

Have a good look at the EF-S 10-22. This is a cracking little lens which will give you the "real 16-35" equivalent on your 400d.

The "real"16-35 will obviously be much longer due to FOV crop.



As for my next kit, budget currently allows me 1 or 2 more 1gb Cf's....

Mmmm, 70-200mmVR would be nice along with a second D200. I also fancy a CF tripod, the Manfrotto 055 ProB is a heavy beast to carry round.

Mind you, that will probably go out the window when the imminent announcement from Nikon is made. :naughty: :suspect:
 
Well my flash to the crap yesterday at the photo shoot so I need a new decent one... 580EX hopefully and then the Sigma 10-20!

but wont be for a while now as ive just got a 300mm f/4 is L
then a load of lighting equipment..:thumbs:
 
Probably some more cards, and maybe a 28-105 so I dont have to borrow the father-in-laws but at the moment reasonably happy with what i've got really liking the 100-400. Will have a spare body when Janice has finished with it as well so that will be nice. :)

I'm looking at a new tripod head, it may well end up being one of the Really Right Stuff variety.
 
Personally I am looking at not Buying ANYTHING.. and getting more use out of the stuff I have bought!! :)
I have spent a silly amount in the last 12months...
That said I think either a wide angle lens or the 24-70 L would be up there...
(mine is a pint of the black stuff - and I never go home early!! :) )
