Got a few old Olympus fit lenses sat in the loft (manual everything) and thought it might be interesting to lash them on the front of the 40D. Trawling the bay leads me to think that I need just a basic olympus/canon adapter?

Also as they are manual I could try some of the boggo extension tubes to try some different macro photography. So would a canon fit extension tube be ok to attach to the olympus lenses via the adapter?

Is the 'M42' fitting just a standard thing that works across the board as long as you have the relevant mount on your camera?

I use a basic Oly/EOS adaptor on my 1DsII and it works well.

Canon tubes should work I reckon

M42 is another lens mount, like Oly, Nikon-F and EOS. It was originally the Pentax screw mount and was also used by people like Fujinon.

SRB might be worth a call, they sorted my father-in-law out with an adapter for his Minolta body and an old Leica 300mm manual prime lens - they were virtually same price as the bay, but very very helpfull
