OK, been asked to death I am sure but help me if you can :)

I am looking to purchase a set of radian triggers that I can use with my Bowens Gemini lighting kit, but I want to be able to group/control each light on its own (e.g allow it to fire or not depending on what I set it to from the controller). I also want to be able to use the same triggers with a different set up, e.g flash guns or different lights altogether like the Lenscarta Safari or Elinchrom Quadra Rangers (as I am saving up for lights specifically for my automotive work but don’t want to fork out for triggers again)

The obvious choice would be something from Pocket Wizard I am sure, but are three other options out there which give the same function/features but without the price tag?

ETTL is not important to me as I always use my flash manually anyway.

Would be looking to control no more than 4 lights.

Any idea’s?

If you want to control the power of studio lights, you have to buy proprietary remotes I believe. And the lower end lights probably don't support any.

Unlike flashguns (where other manufacturers have to reverse engineer the camera manufacturers system) studio flashes are all different, having unique communication protocols and hardware gives them an advantage, it locks you into buying from them.

Thanks Phil, controlling the power on my studio lights is not an option as they are controlled by a dial rather than digital control and the only reason I would look at speed lights would be if I couldn’t get the budget together for a proper set of battery units.

At the moment I can’t decide if I should invest more into my Bowens set up with a Travelpak or just sod it and spend double and a bit getting the elinchrom set up.

Why is there so much to buy!! haha. Can’t afford to be chucking money away hence asking whats best out there, that way I only buy the kit once :)

Thanks
