So frustrated with beginners photoshop guides that assume I already know how...

.. to use the bleeding thing, Yes of course I do that's why I am reading a 'beginners guide' argggh.

So I have made 2 raw conversions one for the sky and one for the land, both have been saved.

Next step: With your A and B files open in photoshop, make sure you can see both on screen. ERRRRM HOW? In the pic they show the land conversion in the main pic with the layers box open, land pic is layer 1 and sky pic is background. How do I get the other pic into layer 1?? Surely as a beginners guide they shouldn't just miss out a HUGE step in the process.

Could someone please explain (as though talking to a 3yr old so I can understand :lol:) what I do?
 
To get both on screen, make them both in to windows if they aren't already (by clicking the restore down button (the one with the two small windows) that's on the far right side of the main 'file/edit/image/layer/etc. bar along the top for each photo), and drag them around so you can see them both



Select all (Ctrl+A) when you have the land pic open, then paste it (ctrl+V) into the sky pic, OR Simply using the move tool (the first one on the tool bar down the side) drag the land picture On to the sky one.


Don't worry, I was just as confused when I started out photoshopping, things get easier as you go along!

I can't move it though as it's saying the layer is locked and it won't let me unlock it no matter where I click.

If you drag it over on to the other image the icon should change and then it will copy over on to the other image; I would show you what it looks like but I tried to get a screen cap and it cut out the mouse pointer! :gag:
 
Thanks. I tried that and it didn't work so as I had both copies saved I closed it down and started again.

I seem to be ok now. If not I will scream again :lol::lol:
