After the glorious weather we have been enjoying it was lashing it down with snow earlier on up here where I am in Northumberland, luckily it only lasted 5 minutes, I hope we have seen the last of it:eek:.

I have been really miserable today and couldn't work out why. Then I realised what it was. The weather! I have been so desperate to spend some time in spring sunshine then today the rain lashed down and the wind howled.

The weather here today was just miserable compared to the past few days. I hope it picks up!

I've been quite lucky really. With the glorious weather on Thrusday until today I've also had that time off! Back to work today and by the time I was finished it was raining. Just a shame it'll still be raining at the weekend!

Hell of a rain storm down this end Mal, backed up with hail and thunder briefly
guess who was working out side at the time :(

Where exactly is the land of the concret cows Chris?

Where exactly is the land of the concret cows Chris?

You've not heard of the concrete cows Chris?
I must get out and take a few pictures :D

I'm in Milton Keynes

Off for a quick Google image search then!

I'll tell you a funny story about them whilst you are goooooooogling
they are situated on the edge of a foot path that runs through to farm land
at the last foot and mouth outbreak the foot path was obviously closed,
and by doing so the powers that be "quarantined" the concrete ones :D

Its true Colin every word!
Seems as though Chris has got himself ( like everyone else that comes here)
LOST!

Weather made for some very interesting moments in the van, wind and rain that felt at times like its was physically lifting the van into the other lane, bear in mind this a van just under its max weight.

I have just googled "land of the concrete cows" Chris and look what comes up:D

after 126 Betamax you are not too far away this time on Google:D

:D
But did you find the cows Mal?
Google earth "Milton Keynes concrete cows"
its not the greatest image considering
Milton Keynes is famous for 2 things bloody roundabouts and concrete cows
the idea behind them is
MK was built as a GLC ( London council as was) Overspill late from '60's to "ongoing"

As more farm land was built on the Development corporation ( as was)
Thought that "real cows" would disappear as they compulsory purchased
more and more green belt
So some bright spark had the idea of building concrete ones "least we forget" :D

There has been many a "bright spark" responsible for wasting ratepayers money on useless works of art, we have the "matchstick men" a stupid "work of art" boldly painted white running alongside the war memorial in Percy street Newcastle, totally and utterly out of keeping and hated by 99% of the residents!!.

I actually love MK, the grid system is amazing :D

At least the cows are far enough out that you have to go looking for them
rather than put in the shopping centre! ( A missed opportunity me thinks :D)

Have that man stuff and mounted for posterity :D
an "outsider" who actually likes and therefore understands
the road system ? unheard of
