No
need some help from more experienced members ,we have had over a quarter inch of snow this morning on the Welsh hillsides .i really need to know if it continues will it cover the satellite dish and cut out the t.v signal .

As I had a friend this happened to

And he had to spend the morning talking to his wife ,will this happen to me ,really scared now :naughty:

That's why you have a camera - it's a vital part of the escape plan in situations where communication with a human being is a possibility...

My satellite system loses the plot if it gets more than 3 flakes of snow on it. Fortunately it's on a bungalow so I can go out with a pole and tap the snow off, otherwise most of the time the alternative would be to talk to myself...................

Talk to the Pole instead, what do they charge to clean off satellite systems?

Matt

Laugh all you want, back in the day I was called out to do just that numerous times. :D

Don't panic, you should still get the WWW so we will be here if you need a shoulder

Let us know you're ok.
We've a heavy frost forecast tonight.
Panic buying is in full flow, lest the ground be a tad white tomorrow.
Clearly it's the end of life as we know it.
Still....had a good run. ;)

Get a Firestick, The Grand Tour starts tonight.:beer:

We had just over an inch of snow last night, which froze solid & local roads were very icy all day, BUT Sunday forecast is for 4" - 8" of the white stuff
Think I'd best send my moneyboss out in the morning to stock up! :D

You'd think they would grit the roads in preparation.
Round here, they grit the roads and we rarely get anything to worry about. They must have gritted the A127 the other day, not grit as such but very fine salt. After the short journey home from work the other night the car had turned from black to white. Cleaned it all off ASAP although the underside could probably do with a good jet wash.

Proper, full on snow here at the minute, the likes of which I haven't seen for a good few years.

I love it.

3 middle aged blokes t*** about and talk s***e.

A bit like OOF but on a smaller scale and with massive paycheques for the contributors. :P

They do salt the major roads, but not a lot else & as we are quite rural it can be difficult for many folk to actually get to the main roads in the first place.

Same here. In all the years I've been here they gritted the road through the village once - after 6 weeks of solid ice. There wasn't any traffic to grind the grit and salt in so the next morning it was even more lethal. Two days later it thawed................. The salt and grit does need to be ground in, so treating roads that don't carry enough traffic to do that is pointless.
